Archos is a France-based electronics company which is mostly releasing low and mid-range smartphones and tablets. This company is selling vast majority of their devices in Europe, and has announced two new smartphones and a tablet prior to this year’s IFA. That being said, we managed to get our hands on all of these devices in Berlin, and are here to take a closer look at them.
If you take a look below this article, you’ll notice there are three separate galleries down there containing hands-on images with each of these devices. The first device you’ll notice down there is Archos Diamond S which was announced 10 days ago. This is a mid-range smartphone which features a 5-inch 720p AMOLED display, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). This handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core SoC, and offers 4G LTE connectivity. The 16-megapixel camera is located on its back, and an 8-megapixel snapper can be found up front. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here, and a 2,300mAh battery is also a part of the package.
The second device, the Diamond Plus, is also a mid-ranger. This phone, unlike the Diamond S, sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display, but it also sihps with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable in-built storage. This device is fueled by the same SoC you’ll find in the Diamond S, and it also sports the same camera snesors and Android version. And last, but not least, the Diamond Tab. This tablet features a 7.9-inch 2048 x 1536 display, 3GB of RAm and 32GB of expandable internal storage. MediaTek’s MT8752 64-bit octa-core SoC poers this tablet, and a 4,800mAh battery can be found on the inside. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here, and the tablet costs £179.
