While ARCHOS is not always your first port of call for a smartphone or tablet, they have had a busy year in 2015 and look set to have a busy end to the year too. It was only on Tuesday that ARCHOS unveiled not one, but two new smartphones. The first was the latest addition to join the Diamond family and was announced as the Diamond S. This was a more mid-range device and offered a decent level of specs considering the price. The other announcement to come from ARCHOS was that they also introduced the latest addition to their Helium range, which is a more budget-directed line. This device came as the 50e Helium.
Well, on the back of those two announcements, ARCHOS has today announced the launch of a new tablet. Like the Diamond S, this tablet joins the Diamond line of devices and was announced as the ARCHOS Diamond Tab. With that in mind, this is also one which is designed to fall on the better side of the mid-range market. Although, if price is anything to go by then this is being pushed out as a very affordable device. ARCHOS has confirmed that the Diamond Tab will be available for £179 and will begin shipping in October. Likewise, the Diamond Tab will also be on show at this year’s IFA event in Berlin.
In terms of the specs, the ARCHOS Diamond Tab comes equipped with a 7.9-inch display with a 2048 x 1536 resolution. Inside, the Diamond Tab is loaded with 3GB RAM and powered by a 64-bit Mediatek MT8752 octa-core processor (clocking at 1.7 GHz). In terms of cameras, the Diamond Tab is equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera which is coupled with a 2-megapixel front-facing option. While in terms of storage, the Diamond Tab comes with 32GB as standard and does include a MicroSD card slot for expansion when needed. Additional features on offer include a 4,800 mAh battery, dual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and the Tab is equipped with 4G LTE connectivity. Lastly, the Diamond Tab comes running on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box. Those interested in finding out more can do so through the source link below.
