This morning marked the first official day of IFA in Berlin, and just as expected Sony unveiled their flagship Xperia Z5 smartphone. Many of the rumored hardware specifications were confirmed as the new device sports a fingerprint sensor on the side in a longer and no longer circular power button on the right side of the device, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 CPU and Adreno 340 GPU with 3GB of RAM. It will also come in either 16GB or 32GB variants this time around and allow for up to 200GB of expandable storage via the microSD card. Some of the specs are the same as previous models, like the screen size at 5.2-inches along with the resolution which Sony has chosen to keep at Full HD. The battery however, has been scaled back a bit and weighs in at 2900mAh.
Also present on this new device is the more powerful camera, set at 23MP using an Exmor RS for mobile sensor compared to the previous 20.7MP camera Sony usually puts in their high end phones. This is paired with a 5MP camera up front that uses an Exmor R sensor and the device is running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop which at the moment is the latest version release for Android. The Xperia Z5 comes in four different colors, including the usual black and white, a gold color, and a green.
