Siswoo is one of many Chinese OEMs which managed to get plenty of media attention in the last couple of month, mainly because of their R9 Darkmoon handset which features two displays. Well, Siswoo is attending IFA in Berlin as we speak, and we managed to get some hands-on time with two phones Siswoo brought to the show, the aforementioned R9 Darkmoon, and the Siswoo i8 handset. Both of these devices are showcased below this article, there are two separate galleries down there if you’d like to check them out.
That being said, the R9 Darkmoon is actually a device quite similar to the Yotaphone. This handset features one regular, 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS OGS display, and a 4.7-inch E Ink 960 x 540 panel on its back. The handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor running at 1.7GHz, and it sports 3GB of RAM. The phone also packs in 16GB of expandable internal storage, and supports Qi Wireless Charging. The 13-megapixel shooter is available on the back of this phone, and an 8-megapixel snapper can be found on its front side. The Siswoo R9 Darkmoon offers 4G LTE connectivity as well, both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE bands are supported here.
The Siswoo i8, on the other hand, is company’s regular mid-ranger. This handset features a 4.7-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable internal storage. MediaTek’s MT6752M octa-core SoC fuels this device along with a Mali-T760 MP2 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel camera is available on the back of this handset, and the 2-megapixel snapper can be found up front. This device also offers 4G LTE support, and dual-SIM support is also available here. The phone packs in a 2,000mAh battery, and Android 5.0 Lollipop is also pre-installed, just like it is on the R9 Darkmoon.
