Guillemot Corporation has over 30 years of experience creating high-performance, ergonomic products specialized in audio under their brand Hercules. Now, at the CTIA 2015 show in Las Vegas they are introducing a new product in their WAE (Wireless Audio Experience) product line. The WAE Outdoor 04 Plus Bluetooth Wireless Speaker is designed for extreme sports enthusiasts who want to rock some music in any sorts of environments. The speaker is rugged enough to endure in most situations, the company claims that its construction could hold up well against damage from shock, water, snow, dust, sand or mud.
It features a compact design and it includes a mounting bracket so that it can be safely locked into a bike in a variety of positions, making it an ideal companion while riding. The speaker is IP66 certified, which makes it waterproof and dustproof, it even offers protection against high-pressure water jets and snow. Every piece integrating the rugged design of the speaker like its rubber end pieces, metal grille and reinforced covers for its connectors, make it extremely shock resistant to be used on the outdoors. The sound on this compact speaker has been optimized to be used under this conditions too, including windy or noisy environments, plus, it features a passive decompression driver.
Just as the name suggests, it uses Bluetooth 3.0 A2DP technology to stream music from any compatible device, including music players, smartphones, tablets, and PCs wirelessly, so no cables get in the way ensuring extreme mobility. A powerful rechargeable battery has been included, providing up to 12 hours of power. The speaker was designed in a shape that allows it to be handled easily and it weighs 0.6 lbs. (280 grams), so it won’t add too much bulk into the hand, bag or wherever it gets transported. Users will be able to secure it in a variety of places, as the standard-size screw thread makes it easy to install bike mounts, suction cup mounts, tripods and other accessories that use this kind of mount. The WAE Outdoor 04 Plus is currently offered in blue for a price of $69.99, but additional colors will be available in a near future.
