Huawei Mate S Leaks In Full Before IFA Event

With IFA now upon us, much of the speculation and rumors are likely to be either confirmed or denied by the manufacturers once they unveil their various hardware offerings. That said, there is still the waiting game to go on before any particular manufacturer takes to the stage and makes their respective announcements. At least, that is the plan. Huawei is in attendance at IFA and one of the devices in which is expected to be announced is their latest smartphone offering, the Huawei Mate S. This has also been rumored to be the Huawei Mate 7S, although, it seems the former is what has gained the most traction recently.

Well, over the last few weeks, this device has been repeatedly leaked with images and spec listings popping up everywhere. In fact, it was only this morning when the latest leak came through with some images appearing online and showing the device from a number of limited angles. Now, hours before Huawei is to unveil the Mate S, it looks like it has leaked properly. Gizmo China has gotten hold of some hands-on images of the device which show the device from pretty much every angle.

As well as the images, the report also seems to be forming a number of the specs which until now, had largely only been speculated upon. In terms of those specs, the Huawei Mate S comes sporting a 5.5-inch 2.D display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Inside, the Huawei Mate S comes equipped with 3GB RAM and powered by Huawei’s own 64-bit HiSilicon Krin 935 octa-core processor. Storage is reported to be at 64GB as standard and the Huawei Mate S comes with the option to expand thanks to the inclusion of a microSD card slot (up to 128GB). As always cameras are expected to be one of the big selling aspects of a smartphone and it had been rumored the Mate S might be coming with a 20-megapixel rear shooter. Although, that seems now not to be the case with the Mate S seemingly confirmed to come with a 13-megapixel rear camera. This is coupled (and meeting previous expectations) with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Additional features noted include the already confirmed fingerprint scanner (which you can see from the images is located underneath the rear camera), while there is also dual-SIM support, 4G LTE support and a 2,700 mAh battery powering everything.
