Huawei Mate S Specifications

Huawei has announced a very interesting product at this year’s IFA in Berlin just recently, the Mate S handset. We’ve already covered the initial announcement of this product, in case you’d like to check that out. The Mate S has been leaking like crazy over the last couple of weeks, and this China-based company has finally decided to unveil it. The device is made out of metal as we’ve expected, even though it sports a slightly smaller display that we’ve anticipated. Anyhow, let’s take a closer look at Huawei Mate S’ specifications.

The Huawei Mate S features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) AMOLED ONCELL display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device is powered by Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 935 octa-core processor, and a 2,700mAh battery on the inside. The 13-megapixel BSI OIS camera (f/2.0 aperture) is located on the back of the Mate S, along with a dual color LED flash. The 8-megapixel BSI shooter is available on the front side of this handset (f/2.4 aperture), and you’ll find an LED flash here as well (not dual-LED flash though).

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on the Mate S, with Huawei’s EMUI 3.1 skin on top of Google’s OS. The Mate S offers 4G LTE connectivity, of course, and it will support a wide range of bands, depending on where you purchase the device. NFC is also on board, in case you were wondering, and as far as sensors go, these ones are included: accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, ALS, proximity, HALL. The Mate S measures 149.8 x 75.3 x 7.2mm, while it weighs 156 grams.

Huawei’s newest handset will be available in Mystic Champagne and Titanium Grey color options, these two colors will be available in more or less every region the device launches in, and other color options will vary from region to region. There you have it, these are the Huawei Mate S specifications. The device sports a somewhat smaller display than we’ve anticipated, but all in all, this device has lots to offer. A variant of the device will offer Force Touch capability, and Knuckle Sense 2.0 will be a part of every variant of the Mate S.
