Motorola Moto X Play is one of three devices Motorola has announced back in July. Moto X Play is a mid-range offering by the company, and is right in the middle of the entry-level Moto G (3rd-gen), and the high-end Moto X Style / Pure as far as specifications go. The Moto X Play is already available in select markets, and the company has just announced their newest mid-ranger in India as well. This device actually follows the Moto G (3rd-gen) handset which has arrived to the country soon after Motorola announced it in New York.
The Motorola Moto X Play sports a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor along with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics. The phone also ships with 2GB of RAM on the inside, and you also get 16 or 32GB of internal storage, depending on which version you decide to purchase. If the internal storage capacity just doesn’t cut it for you, this device also offers microSD card expansion up to 128GB. The Moto X Play is a dual-SIM handset which offers 4G LTE connectivity, and ships with a 3,630mAh battery on the inside. The 21-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) is located on the back of this smartphone, and below the camera sensor you’ll find a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The Motorola Moto X Play measures 148 x 75 x 8.9-10.9mm, while it weighs 169 grams. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on this device with a couple of apps from Motorola, other than that, this is a rather stock build of Android.
This handset comes in Black and White in India, and it’s priced at Rs. 18,499 for the 16GB variant, and Rs. 19,999 for the 32GB model. The phone will be available exclusively from Flipkart at the end of the day (midnight).
