Yesterday, Google announced their new breed of Nexus smartphones with the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P after several months of leaks, rumors and expectation by Android fans around the world. The launch itself wasn’t a surprise anymore because almost everything had already been revealed by leaks. Now that the handsets are official, users still have to wait a little longer in order to put their hands on these phones, since they aren’t for sale just yet. However, it’s already available for pre-order and U.S. users can reach to Google in order to do so.
If you live in the UK, here are some good news, as the Nexus 5X is already available for pre-order for British Android fans with online retailers Unlocked Mobiles, Carphone Warehouse, Clove UK and carrier EE. The good thing is that the infamous 16 GB version is not listed and you only have the option for the 32 GB option. As for the pricing, it will be considerably higher than what U.S. users will be paying – Clove is selling the 32 GB Nexus 5X for £379 (around $575) in White and Black colors, on Carphone Warehouse, you will pay £350 ($531) for all colors, and Unlocked Mobiles is offering it for £375 ($570). For comparison, in the U.S. the 32 GB model costs $429.
If you are not familiar with it yet, the LG-made Nexus 5X is a sequel of 2013’s Nexus 5 offering some nice specs with a low price tag. It features a high-resolution 5.2 inches display, 2 GB of RAM and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage, without the ability to expand it via microSD cards. It is powered by the hexa-core Snapdragon 808, 64-bit SoC from Qualcomm, coupled with an Adreno 418 GPU. It has a Type-C USB 3.0 port to charge a non-removable 2700 mAh battery, which should give you a good usage between charges. Additionally, the phone comes with a fingerprint reader on the back, right below the 13 megapixels camera.
If you live in the UK and want to pre-order a Nexus 5X, here are the links for Carphone Warehouse, Clove UK, and Unlocked Mobiles. As for carriers, EE is already open for pre-ordering and others will follow soon. Deliveries are expected to happen by mid-October and beyond.
