It is that time of year again – fall is in the air and that has to mean it is FOOTBALL season. It is that time of year when the sports bars gear up for the Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday crowds for the big games with lots of tacos, wings and beer on hand. It means Sports Illustrated will ablaze its front cover with football players. It is also the time of year for the NFL to update its official NFL Mobile app with even more features, but it still will not stream live games to all of its fans…only those on Verizon.
Last year, the NFL came out with a new signature service called ‘NFL Now’ – an app that was into streaming constant video of NFL related topics including news and late breaking topics. The NFL took their ‘NFL Now’ and incorporated it into the NFL Mobile app, as many customers were confused between the two apps and were not sure where to go to view the streaming content. Now there is one place to go where you can find it all. The app will now allow Verizon wireless customers to stream select games each week, including their local game. Before the app was updated, Verizon customers had to subscribe to a certain tier in order to stream the games.
The NFL is also revising their package – NFL Game Pass. They have combined the entire separate premium services into this year’s NFL Game Pass. It includes live preseason games, watch any replay of any game in the ‘demand’ area, a ‘Coaches Film’ option that will allow you to see multiple angles of the game, 30-minute ‘Condensed Games’ and replays of older games from past seasons. They also lowered the price from $140 when they were a la carte down to $100 a season.
Remember when the NFL season ends that the NFL Mobile app keeps on working for you all year long. There is always something going on in the NFL world – breaking news, live videos of stories in the NFL studios and written stories about all 32 NFL teams. Study the year end stats and browse the NFL Shop – just remember that your data charges will apply while streaming any of the games or videos.
