If you have yet to get the message, then tomorrow is a big day in the Android word. This is thanks to Google taking to the stage tomorrow for the annual Nexus event. As such, the likes of the two next Nexus smartphones are likely to be unveiled, as well as a bunch of other hardware products too. In fact, with the amount of announcements coming through, it is quickly looking as though it will be much more than just a Nexus event with a number of other hardware options expected to land.
To take this point further, it seems it is not only the hardware which will be seeing announcements made tomorrow as a number of software aspects from Google also seem to be on the event’s agenda. It was only this morning when reports emerged detailing the event will bring with it an announcement for Play Music which sees the introduction of a family plan for $15 a month.
Well, the latest coming in is that a fairly large update to Google Photos is also now expected to be on the cards tomorrow. The headline aspect of the update will see Chromecast supported added to Google Photos so that you can view all your photos and videos on an external screen. In addition, the report also details that a new people labelling feature will go live too. Although, you can already make use of Google Photos ability to group photos by the people that are in them, the new feature will mean you can label the grouping of photos (or the person) in a custom format. Offering for a more personalized approach to how you search for images of that person or those persons.
For those interested in any of the new features that are said to be en route to Google Photos, then like the Play Music announcement earlier, it seems it is only the announcement of the update which will commence tomorrow with the update likely to roll out in due course over the following few days. Although, if Google’s I/O event is anything to go by and the speed of which they rolled out Google Photos after announcing, then the new update could land as early as tomorrow.
