Just yesterday, we heard from CNET that Google was going to have a Nexus event on September 29th in San Francisco. Today, we are hearing from Android Authority that one of those Nexus devices will be named the LG Nexus 5X. They are also reporting that it’ll be available on September 29th, and for around $400. Android Authority also has said that this information is not final, and things could change as they quickly do in this industry. They are saying that the Huawei Nexus will also be on sale on the 29th of this month.
When it comes to all those leaks and such that we’ve seen of the LG Nexus recently, it appears that they are true. At least according to Android Authority. They are stating that there is a round fingerprint sensor on the back, along with a raised camera. The Nexus 5X will also be available in white, black and light blue. Additionally, it will have a plastic back and have a USB Type-C port. Storage options include 16GB and 32GB, with the $399 price tag attached to the 16GB model and the $449 price attached to the 32GB model. Again this could be changed as well if they decide to bring in a 64GB model, which I’m sure many people would love to have. Especially since Nexus devices haven’t had a microSD card slot for a few years now.
It’s very important to stress that this is not the final pricing or final info on the Nexus 5X, heck even the name could see a change before it’s official. We have a little over 3 weeks before the supposed announcement takes place, and plenty can happen in that time. So far, it’s looking to be a pretty promising device. And something that many Android enthusiasts are looking for. A smaller device, with a fingerprint reader, and costing right around $400. However, there is a lot of competition in that area right now. With the Moto X Pure Edition coming in at $399 and working on all four carriers. There’s also the OnePlus 2 coming in at $389 with a whole lot more storage. But the Nexus always has a special place in many Android fan’s hearts.
