Motorola may have announced their latest 3rd generation smartphones in the form of the 2015 editions of the Moto G and Moto X. And Motorola may have even launched three variants of the Moto X, in the form of the Moto X Play, Moto X Style and Moto X Pure, but that does not mean the Motorola speculation (and even Moto X speculation) for 2015 has come to an end. In fact, since the last few days of August, the latest variant of the Moto X has been highly speculated on. For those that missed the earlier coverage, this is the Moto X Force.
As the name would suggest, the Force variant of the Moto X family is expected to be a much more durable and hard-working version of the Moto X and as such comes with a number of changes. Some of the specs which have been offered so far include a 5.43-inch display with a 2560 by 1440 resolution. Inside, the Moto X Force is expected to come sporting 3GB RAM and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. Storage is reportedly set at 32GB (and there is a mention of a 64GB variant), although there is no mention of whether the storage will be expandable. Cameras are said to include a 21-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera. While the battery seems to be one of the biggest changes with the battery on the Moto X Force touting a 3,760 mAh capacity.
Of course, with this being a “Force” variant, durability will be the word of the day and much like Samsung’s attempt with their Active variants of their Galaxy S range. In fact, along with the rumored specs, it is also being said that the Moto X Force won’t just be durable but will be “shatterproof”. Well, the latest on the Moto X Force comes from @upleaks who posted a message to his Weibo account recently. The message included the specs which are in line with the specs already mentioned and further confirmed that the Moto X Force will become available in December. To be fair, this last point is a date which had already been confirmed by the tipster and as such, is not new news. That said what does seem to be new is the reported price of the device. It is being said, the Moto X Force will cost $628 when it launches. How accurate this is remains to be seen for now, but if correct, will price the device among the highest of the Moto X 2015 family. Although, with December still some time away (relatively speaking), this is an element which could easily change before the Moto X Force is officially announced and pricing confirmed.
