Rumor: Nexus 5X & Nexus 6P Shipping To Begin October 25th

So far, today has brought with it all the usual madness expected from a Nexus launch. That said, Google has now wrapped up their annual Nexus event and in doing so a number of announcements and confirmations have come through for all the new products that will be on the way. The two big headline products are the latest Nexus devices, the LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P. Although, against the odds, Google did unveil a new tablet in the form of the Pixel C as well. Not to mention, Google also confirmed pre-orders will go live today for the two main flagship devices.

In fact, they have already now gone live with both the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P now available to pre-order in all sizes and most colors from the Google Store. For those who are thinking about pre-ordering, the big question will be when will they receive their devices, as Google did not provide exact details as to when shipping will begin. The announcement simply came with a “later in October” referencing. Well, there maybe a clue as to when shipping will begin thanks to a promotion Google also launched for the two Nexus devices. Google confirmed that anyone who does pre-order either the Nexus 5X or the Nexus 6P in the U.S. will receive a $50 Google Play credit.

On this note, both the Nexus 5X and 6P buy now pages clearly do state that to get the $50 Play credit you need to pre-order by October 25th. As this promotion is expected to be only for pre-orders and with Google already confirming the later in October shipping date, it does seem highly likely that October 25th is the date which both Nexus devices will begin shipping and go on general sale. Either way, if the 25th is not the exact date of shipping, it seems unlikely to be any earlier in October as the pre-order deal will still be live and active. As such, those who are pre-ordering either device would probably be wise to view the 25th/26th, as when the devices will begin shipping for the early pre-orders. That is, unless Google does provide more detailed information in the meantime.
