Solid Explorer Has Stylish Material UI With Extra Custom Options

Most smartphones and tablets these days will come with a built-in file manager application, and some of them are arguably very good. Some of the third party apps are still potentially better though, either offering up more features and functionality, a better design, or both. There’s also no shortage of great file explorers out there on the Play Store. There’s lots of great options to choose from. Solid Explorer File Manager just might be one of them. Not only does it seem to be packed to the gills with functions that make it worth looking into, but it has a sleek and stylish material design UI that fits right in with Lollipop and the upcoming Marshmallow software.

Solid Explorer gives users a 14 day free trial of the premium version of the pp, after which users who like the functionality that premium has to offer will need to purchase the full version unlocker for $1.99. Upon opening the app many will notice how good it looks. Don’t let the visuals shock you, there is still plenty of function to love here. Solid Explorer offers things like management of your cloud files and supports multiple cloud services like Dropbox, Yandex, Box, OneDrive, Google Drive, SugarSync, Copy, Mediafire, and Owncloud. It also has root access for those who have a rooted device and need a file explorer who can keep up. You can also view and stream media content like photos and videos, and the app has Chromecast support so you can cast any media that’s being viewed or played.

Most of the standard file explorer features are present, like drag and drop management of files and folders, read and extract capabilities for ZIP files as well as 7ZIP, RAR, and TAR files, and if you like things to be secure Solid Explorer allows for setting passwords for ZIP and 7ZIP file types. What’s nice is that it allows users to batch rename folders so they don’t have to spend a lofty amount of time renaming everything just to get it organized, and for those who like the new material look but want a little more customization, Solid Explorer has that with multiple options for folder icons, app themes, and color schemes for the entire app. If the app still needs more features, there are a handful of different optional plugins available for it that add to the functionality for those that want it.
