Specs For Amazon's $50 Tablet Possibly Revealed On GFXBench

About a week ago an interesting rumor began to surface and this was to do with Amazon and a new tablet that was believed to be on its way. While Amazon already have a few tablets available on the market, what made this one so newsworthy, was that it was being reported that it is due to become available to buy for only $50. A tablet priced at this point is likely to be a big seller, although it seems equally likely to be a tablet which comes sporting some rather mediocre specs. On that point, at the time the rumor began to surface, the details of the $50 tablet were literally nonexistent. Well, a tablet has now been spotted being benchmarked on GFX Bench and it is being reported that this is likely to be the $50 tablet in question. As a result (and if correct) then we are being made privy to a few of the specs that you can expect from a tablet in this price range.

The tablet is listed as the Amazon KFFOWI and in terms of the specs, will come sporting a 6.7-inch display with a 1024 x 600 resolution. This particular spec is probably what is attracting the idea that this is the $50 tablet as it was noted to be coming with a 6-inch display. Inside, the listing reveals the table will come equipped with 1GB RAM (0.8 exactly) and be powered by a MediaTek (MT8127) quad-core processor (clocking at 1.3 GHz). Storage is set at what looks to be 8GB (5.6GB to be exact) while in terms of cameras, the tablet comes sporting a 1.8-megapixel rear camera which is coupled with a 0.3-megapixel front facing VGA option. The only other notable feature is that it will come running on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box.

So there you go, if this is the $50 tablet, then these might very well be the specs on offer. Much of them do seem to hold true to what would be expected and now that the company is done with its Fire Phone, this is one you can expect for them to be pushing hard in the run up to the Holiday Season.
