T-Mobile has been shaking up the mobile industry in the U.S. lately, introducing plans to clash with major rivals as part of the Un-carrier initiative. Last June, they announced the JUMP! On Demand trade-in program that allows users to upgrade their smartphones up to three times a year with no fees or waiting times. Today the company announced their latest move in the “war” against AT&T and Verizon and launched the Lifetime Coverage Guarantee, a new incentive to make consumers grab an eligible smartphone with their JUMP! On Demand. The program allows an individual to try T-Mobile’s plan and should he or she be dissatisfied with the coverage, the company will make it easy for a withdrawal by either refunding the phone or by unlocking it to be used in another carrier and still keeping the financing. Here is how it works:
If you got the JUMP! On Demand, didn’t like it and want to quit within the first 30 days of service, the company will make a full refund of the phone and will reimburse you for the current month’s service costs. If you didn’t like the service after these 30 days, T-Mobile will unlock your phone for free, reimburse you for a full month of service and you will be able to keep the device with the interest-free monthly payment, which means keeping the financing plan even after leaving the carrier. If you want to leave T-Mobile before the 30 days but still keep your phone, you will have to pay the full month of service. The refunds include monthly service charges, taxes, fees, and your SIM starter kit. If you got handset insurance, you will be able to keep it with the phone. If you didn’t get the insurance and want to sign up for it after leaving T-Mobile, you will be able to do so at the time of cancelation.
According to the company, all phones included in JUMP! On Demand with Extended Range 4G LTE are covered. Currently, as on T-Mobile’s website, you can get the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge models, Galaxy Note 4, the brand new Galaxy Note 5 and LG G4 with more to come.
