T-Mobile Galaxy Tab 4 & Note 10.1 (2014) Reach Android 5.0.2

You might have noticed that much of the talk today has surrounded what Google will unveil or release at tomorrow’s event. While the two Nexus devices seem to be guaranteed, what is equally likely to be unveiled is the next version of the Android operating system, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). That said, in spite of Android 6.0 about to be getting its unveil tomorrow in a final and ready state, there are those devices which are still waiting to see their update arrive for last year’s big arrival, Android 5.x (Lollipop).

Well, on that note, if you do own either the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) or the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, then the long wait for your update is over. At least, or those running these devices on T-Mobile. The carrier has today announced the going live of the update for both devices. In addition to the normal features that can be expected with such an update, both changelogs also list the update includes a fix for Stagefright. Either way, it is worth noting that neither of these devices are seeing an update to the most recent version of Lollipop (Android 5.1) but instead are only being updated to Android 5.0.2. Although, an update is still an update.

In the case of the Galaxy Tab 10.1, the update weighs in at 958.65 MB and goes by the build number P607TUVUBOI2. While for the Galaxy Tab 4, the update weighs in at 852.07 MB and uses the build number T337TUVU1H5. Both updates will bring the devices to Android 5.0.2 and are commencing today as an OTA update. The update cycle is expected to continue through until completion which is listed as October 9th. As such, not all devices will see the update landing today. However, if you want to check if it is available for your device, then as per usual, head over to settings, About and Check for update. Otherwise, in due course, you should see the notification coming through at a natural pace. In the meantime, those interested in reading more about either update can do so by heading over to the respective T-Mobile support update page though the source link below.
