When it comes to LG, it seems there is a lot of open-ended questions at the moment. It seems to be no secret that they are working on one of the two Nexus devices for this year and most indications point to Google launching the device at the end of this month at an event taking place on September 29th. Then there is also the mysterious LG V10 device which recently popped up on TENAA. Not forgetting, there is also a rumor that they are gearing up to release a new smartwatch at the end of this month too. Well, a couple of days ago the company did make an announcement that they would be holding their own event on October 1st, which is a couple of days after the expected Google event. As such, it’s seems unclear as to which device, if any of the three already mentioned, will be announced.
Well, to add to the mystery a new LG device has now been spotted passing through GFXBench. The device in question is only listed by its model number which is LG H740 and so it is difficult to say for certain if it any of the already rumored devices. Although, the specs being noted do seem to indicate that it is certainly a mid-range phablet device.
In terms of those specs, the LG H740 looks set to come sporting a 5.7-inch display along with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. As such, this will certainly be a phablet sized device which will lead some to assume it could be the rumored LG G4 Note/Stylus. Inside, the LG H740 comes equipped with 2GB RAM and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor (clocking at 1.5 GHz). In terms of cameras, the device is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera (actually listed as 12-megapixels), which is coupled with a 5-megapixel front facing camera. Internal storage is set at 8GB, while the device comes running on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) out of the box. Of course, whether this is one of the devices which will be released on October 1st remains uncertain, although the timing of the benchmark does seem to suggest it could be unveiled at the start of next month.
