LG Announce New York Event Taking Place October 1st

The dust is still settling from this year’s IFA event in which a number of announcements came through and it already seems as one event ends, the next is being announced. Over the last week or two there has been what could be a couple of major announcements being confirmed. The first came from Google in which an event has now been confirmed to take place on September 29th. It is largely expected that this will be the day in which the LG Nexus 5/X 2015 and the Huawei Nexus are both unveiled. A few days later came an announcement from HTC that they are to hold a press conference which is interestingly, on the same day, September 29th. Once again, it is highly being presumed that HTC might be unveiling another (maybe even two) flagship device.

Well, not one to be left out, it looks like LG will be joining those who are planning on holding a dedicated event in the next few weeks. LG has now started sending out invites to various press outlets confirming that they will be holding an event. Unlike Google and HTC, LG’s event is scheduled for a few days later and looks set to commence on October 1st. What’s interesting about the LG event though, is that there are no clear indications on what the company will unveil.

There has been rumors very recently about a new smartwatch which is due to be released by LG and it was even claimed this could be announced towards the latter part of September. As such, this would fit nicely with the time-frame and seems to be a strong contender for the event. Then there has also been the recent rumors about a new smartphone dubbed the LG V10. This was recently spotted passing through TENAA and could also be a contender to be released in the next couple of weeks. Of course, as the date nears, it is likely more details about what to expect will become clear. Either way though, will only a couple of weeks to the event, it won’t be long until we see if a new LG smartwatch, phone or otherwise is announced.
