Dual-screen devices are nothing new, but nonetheless they’re still exciting to see. Ever since the Nintendo DS made two screens fashionable over a decade ago manufacturers have been looking for new ways of making more than one screen actually useful rather than just a cool point to put on a spec sheet. Much like the Yotaphone before it Siswoo has been working on a device with two different kinds of screens; one that looks and feels like a regular smartphone’s LCD screen and one that looks much more like what you would find on an Amazon Kindle E-Reader instead.
It’s this second e-ink screen that’s incredibly exciting, one that saves considerable power and makes reading on your phone a much less difficult endeavor for your eyes. As a bonus this is a full touch screen, not just a screen that you send pages of a book to, so users can switch between the LCD and E-Ink screen at any given point in time. We’ve got a hands-on for you from IFA 2015 in Berlin where a representative from Siswoo showed us exactly how this technology works and how you interact with it on a daily basis. Check the video out below and let us know what you think, we came back very impressed with the technology and can’t wait to put it through its paces in a full review!
