Sony has launched three devices during IFA in Berlin earlier this month. The company has unveiled their Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia Z5 Compact handsets. The company has already released these devices in select markets around the world, and the time has come that the devices hit Hong Kong as well, at least some of them. The company has announced that pre-orders for the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact are now open in Hong Kong, and that the two phones will be available until October 7th, when they’ll probably be available for open sale and ship to those of you who pre-order them. It is also worth mentioning that the Xperia Z5 will be available in both single and dual-SIM variants.
The Sony Xperia Z5 sports a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 23-megapixel snapper is located on the back of this phone. The Xperia Z5 is also IP68 certified, which means it is dust proof and water resistant. The device packs in a 2,900mAh battery, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Sony’s skin on top of it. Xperia Z5 also sports fast battery charging (Quick Charge 2.0), and can charge up its battery from 0 to 60% in 30 minutes.
The Xperia Z5 Compact is the lowest-end out of the three Xperia Z5 devices Sony unveiled during IFA. This smartphone sports a 4.6-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. The phone is also powered by the Snapdragon 810 SoC, and it also sports an IP68 certification. The 23-megapixel shooter is located on the back of this device, and a 5.1-megapixel snapper is available on the front. The non-removable 2,700mAh battery can be found on the inside, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Sony’s skin on top.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact is available for pre-order for HK$4,798 ($619), and the Xperia Z5 (both single and dual-SIM variants) can be pre-ordered for HK$5,698 ($735). The source also mentioned that the Xperia Z5 Premium will be available at a later date.
