ASUS ZenWatch 2 Now Available Via The U.S. Google Store

ASUS revealed their successor to the original ZenWatch back during IFA in Berlin at the beginning of February, but up until now it hasn’t been available from the Google Store along with all of the other Android and Android Wear products you can find there. That all changes today as it appears the ASUS ZenWatch 2 has recently shown up on the Google Store U.S. listed alongside the other Android Wear smartwatches for the low cost of $149.99. That puts it at a considerably lower cost compared to other current offerings, and also matches the price that the original Moto 360 had only been discounted to after being out for nearly a year, which you can also still find in stock on the Google Store.

Google is offering the ZenWatch 2 in two different colors each with their own size, which includes the 49mm watch in a Navy Blue color as well as the 45mm model coming in a lighter blue hue of Aqua. The color only extends to the bands though as the actual watch casings are silver for the Aqua Blue and a gunmetal for the Navy Blue. Consumers can’t mix and match the two colors with the other sizes unfortunately, so those who are partial to the Aqua Blue color but want the 49mm size, they’ll be out of luck.

When it comes to specifications, both models of the ZenWatch 2 come equipped with an AMOLED display that’s protected by gorilla Glass 3. While the displays on both models may be the same type of panel, they come with different amount of PPI to fit the size of the display, with the 49mm model coming with a screen resolution of 320 x 320 and 278 PPI, while the 45mm model comes with a 280 x 280 screen resolution and 273 PPI. Both watches are powered by the Qualcomm APQ 8026 processor and come with 4GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM. They’re both IP67 water and dust resistant, and as for battery, the 49mm model is powered by a 400mAh battery while the smaller 45mm model comes with a 300mAh battery inside. If you’re looking for an Android Wear smartwatch that looks good and won’t break the bank, the ZenWatch 2 is a good solution that just might fit your style an your budget.
