IFA 2015: Hands-On With the ASUS ZenWatch 2

Earlier today, ASUS kicked off their IFA 2015 showings by announcing the pricing of the new ZenWatch 2 duo, available in either a 45mm watch face or a 49mm watch face. The ZenWatch 2 was announced earlier this year during Computex, and while it doesn’t look too dissimilar to the original, ASUS have made some important changes, while keeping what people liked about the original. Its price is one of the things that ASUS have kept close to the original, as we discovered earlier today. The ZenWatch 2 will cost less than $200 in either the small or the larger versions of the new watch.

We’re roaming around Berlin during IFA 2015, and we’ve just spent some quality time with the ZenWatch 2 after ASUS’ press conference and even though it’s quite as eye-catching as the Huawei Watch or the new Moto 360, it’s classy in its own right. It’s a square-faced Android Wear smartwatch with two-days or more of battery life, thanks to the AMOLED display, and there’s standard 18mm or 22mm watch strap fittings (depending on the 45mm or 49mm size, respectively). With a variety of different colored straps offered from ASUS themselves, including face options of gunmetal, silver or rose gold, this is an attractive watch. ASUS want this to be a smartwatch that’s not only affordable, but also one that gets you through a day, night and beyond. Just how much longer the battery lasts will be up to the user, but it’s a promising offering.

You can take a closer look at the ZenWatch 2 down below, and we’ll be reporting on all the events and launches of IFA 2015 as soon as we have all the info, so stay tuned and keep coming back for more on the latest devices and gadgets.
