BlackBerry Priv has been one of the most frequently mentioned unreleased smartphones lately. This will be BlackBerry’s first Android-powered smartphone, and the company’s CEO has already showcased the phone in a hands-on video a while back. The device still hasn’t launched, and we still don’t know most of its specs, aside from the fact that it will sport ‘high-end specs’ according to the company’s CEO. That being said, we’ve seen plenty of leaks thus far, and a new one surfaced earlier today, read on.
The source has managed to get their hands on the device, and they basically did an overview of the phone, though keep in mind this is a pre-released software we’re looking at here. Anyhow, according to them, the Priv sports a 5.4-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) curved display, and it sports a pixel density of 544 PPI. The device is fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core SoC which has been used in a number of devices thus far, the LG G4, LG V10, Xiaomi Mi 4c, etc. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on BlackBerry Priv, and the phone also equips 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (22GB user available). The microSD expansion is also a part of this package, and you’ll of course have access to 4G LTE connectivity as well.
As far as the cameras go, the Priv will feature an 18-megapixel Schneider-Kreuznach camera which will protrude slightly on the back of this phone. The 5-megapixel snapper will be available on the front side of BlackBerry’s upcoming phone. Speaking of camera sensors, there are some camera samples for you to check out in the gallery down below. These are amongst the best and cleanest real life images of this device that we’ve seen thus far, so they should give you a pretty good idea of how this smartphone will look like. The BlackBerry Priv is an odd device, that’s for sure. You’ll get a slide-out full QWERTY physical keyboard here, which will probably be quite good considering this is BlackBerry we’re talking about here, but it remains to be seen how many people are still interested in something like this.
