Bluboo is not exactly the most popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer, but this company is trying to compete with other OEMs out there by releasing interesting smartphones. Bluboo has released the X500 and X550 handsets a while back, and the time has come for the company to unveil their new flagship, a device they’ve been teasing for a while now, the Bluboo Xtouch. Bluboo has finally unveiled this smartphone, so let’s take a look at what it has to offer shall we.
First and foremost, it is worth mentioning that Bluboo Xtouch is made out of metal (CNC frame, nano molding), and that it sports a unibody design. The device is only 5.5mm thick, but the company claims it’s an extremely solid device. The device sports a 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080, 441 PPI) IPS display with a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3 panel on top of it. There’s also a glass panel on the back of the device, which makes it look somewhat more premium. The Bluboo Xtouch is powered by MediaTek’s MT6753 64-bit octa-core SoC along with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, while it sports 32GB of internal storage. The 3,050mAh battery is also a part of this package, and you’ll be able to take advantage of MediaTek’s Quick Charging features as well. The 13-megapixel OIS shooter (Sony’s IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture) can be found on the back of this smartphone, while there’s an 8-megapixel snapper (OmniVision’s sensor, f/2.0 aperture) available up front.
The Bluboo Xtouch sports a physical home button below the display, and that home button doubles as a fingerprint scanner, which is really fast according to Bluboo (0.3-second identification). Dual-SIM support is also packed in here, and same can be said about 4G LTE connectivity options. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes out of the box here, while Bluboo added some of their own functionality here, but nothing that would bloat Android. This smartphone is already available for pre-order from Chinese resellers for $179.99, in case you’re interested. The phone can be pre-ordered pretty much anywhere in the world.
