Carphone Warehouse Nexus 5X Orders Start Arriving

Google unveiled the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P last month at an event in San Francisco. With the Nexus 5X being the smaller 5.2-inch Nexus built by LG and the Nexus 6P being the larger 5.7-inch Nexus built by Huawei. Many should be receiving their pre-orders beginning next week, but at this point, Carphone Warehouse has already started shipping out some Nexus 5X orders, and in fact a few users have already received their orders. So if you’re one that ordered a Nexus 5X from Carphone Warehouse, you might receive it today, or you may be out of luck until Monday.

The Nexus 5X is the third Nexus built by LG (following the Nexus 4, and Nexus 5). In fact, Google came out this week and basically said that working with LG on the Nexus program has been amazing and that they are the best partner for the program. Which is pretty amazing, and great for the South Korean manufacturer. The Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch 1920×1080 resolution IPS display, powered by the Qualcomm exa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, we also have 2GB of RAM with 16GB and 32GB of storage options and a 2700mAh battery inside powering the show. Additionally we have a fingerprint sensor around the back, which Google says will recognize your fingerprint in under 600 milliseconds, which is really fast. We also have a 12.3MP camera around back, which Google says is the best camera ever to be in a Nexus (which really isn’t saying much). And all this for $379, with the 32GB model going for $429. Not a bad price at all.

While the Nexus 5X is already shipping from Carphone Warehouse, Google Play should begin shipping their pre-orders next week, at least we hope. However, for those that bought the larger Nexus 6P that is built by Huawei, there’s been no word on when it’s shipping just yet. And we have also heard of all sorts of supply issues with Huawei and Google in some countries for the Nexus 6P, so there is a big chance that it could be delayed a bit, unfortunately. As always, we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on what’s going on though.
