The Huawei Watch was unveiled a long time ago, but it has been available for a little over a month. Still it is one of the best offerings that use the Android Wear platform, the design is very refined and tasteful and the premium materials used in its construction help it look very good. The case is made of stainless steel and the round display is covered with sapphire glass. Of course, it integrates every sensor to measure various health or fitness related attributes, so you could get all the functionality you would expect from a smartwatch. The watch has been available from the Google Store for a while, and even though it has been listed as an accessory, the official charging cradle wasn’t available to purchase.
That changes today, as the charging cradle for the Huawei Watch is listed as an item in stock. It is priced at $39.99 and orders will leave the warehouse in 1-2 business days with free shipping. This is the first accessory available through the Google Store, but it is not uncommon to find chargers for some of the most popular smartwatches that use Android Wear. This charger is quite pricey, as it doesn’t feature wireless charging like the one of the Moto 360 and it cost the same. But it still might be worth buying in case your original charger gets damaged or you simply need to charge this device in more than one place, you can leave one at home and carry the other one in case the 300 mAh gets empty.
The Huawei Watch has some magnets on the back so that it aligns well with the charging cradle and the charging pins that transmit energy. The cable on this charger is attached to the cradle so that the cradle itself doesn’t get lost as easily, but it means that users won’t be able to use any USB cable. Sadly, users aren’t able to charge the watch with any other standard, so they are pretty much stuck with this solution until some compatible chargers appear, but that might not even happen, so it’s good to know where one of these can be bought.
