Galaxy ON5 Official Images Leaked Through Samsung Listing

Lately, there have been a torrent of leaks surrounding a whole new lineup of smartphones from South Korean consumer electronics major, Samsung. The devices are rumored to come with the Galaxy ON moniker, and just the other day, reports about the much-rumored upcoming smartphones from Samsung claimed that the devices were close to being ready for their commercial launch, which is believed to happen in India fairly soon. Both devices are apparently already being manufactured by Samsung in India as part of the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, which has been undertaken to aid the manufacturing sector in the country by doling out tax concessions and other benefits.

Now, multiple official renders of at least one of the devices are out in the public domain, thanks to a temporary listing from Samsung India on its official webpage. While the listing has since been taken down, the free publicity that Samsung would have hoped for is already materializing, and the net is abuzz about the new range, which could very well be an online-only offering from the world’s largest and most profitable Android smartphone maker (hence the ‘ON’ moniker). Not only has the supposedly accidental listing outed some of the official images, we also get a look at some of the hardware specs as listed on the official Samsung India website.

Talking about hardware specs, both the Galaxy ON5 and the Galaxy ON7 will be powered by the Exynos 3475 SoC, which comes with an integrated quad-core CPU clocked at a frequency of 1.3 GHz. Both devices will also reportedly carry 1.5 GB of RAM and only 8 GB of internal storage, but will each have a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The similarities however, ends there for the most part, as the Galaxy ON7 will feature a 5.5-inch display panel, as opposed to a 5-inch screen on the Galaxy ON5. Both panels however, will have a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

As for the cameras, the larger device will have a 13-megaoixel shooter on the rear whereas the smaller sibling will come with an 8-megapixel primary camera. Both handsets however, will have 5-megapixel selfie-cams. As for the batteries, the larger device will carry a 3,000 mAh unit whereas the smaller handset will sport a smaller 2,600 mAh battery. While the pricing wasn’t revealed as part of the latest leak, previous reports have claimed that while the Galaxy ON5 will be priced at around the Rs. 10,000 ($150) mark, the Galaxy ON7 will come with a Rs. 13,000 ($200) price-tag.
