Gionee is a China-based smartphone OEM you’ve probably heard of thus far. This company has been releasing devices for quite some time now, and their Elife S5.1 device was quite well-known because it was the thinnest smartphone in the world for a short period of time. Anyhow, this company has unveiled their new flagship back in June, the Elife E8. It took Gionee quite some time to release it outside of China though, the company has decided to release this phablet in India today, and this is the second country the device will be available in.
The Elife S8 is a rather huge phablet which ss made out of metal. The device sports a rather sleek look, and a fingerprint scanner on the back, where its camera sensors, dual-LED, dual tone flash and loudspeaker are located as well. Both the power button and volume rockers are located on the right-hand side of this device, and it sports some really nice specifications on the inside. Speaking of which, let’s check them out, shall we. The Gionee Elife E8 features a 6-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card). MediaTek’s Helio X10 (MT6795) 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels this phablet along with a PowerVR G6200 GPU for graphics. The 23.7-megapixel camera (1/2.3” sensor, 6P lens, OIS) is available on the back of this device, and is flanked by a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 8-megapixel snapper can be found on the front side of this device, and you also get two SIM card slots here. The 3,520mAh battery is located on the inside, and this phone offers support for 4G LTE connectivity as well. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed on the Elife E8, and the company’s Amigo UI 3.1 is available on top of Google’s operating system.
The Elife E8 is the most powerful device Gionee has to offer at the moment. This phablet comes in Gold color only and costs Rs. 34,999 in India.
