Today, AT&T and T-Mobile – 2 of the 3 carriers in the US that will be carrying the LG V10 – announced availability beginning tomorrow. With AT&T launching the V10 on the 27th, and T-Mobile on the 28th. Now LG has just put out a press release about the LG V10 availability, and added that those that order a LG V10 will get some pretty amazing goodies. Those that order a LG V10 will get a 200GB MicroSD card (likely touting the fact that the phone has microSD card). But they will also get an extra battery and a cradle to charge that battery. So these gifts that come with the LG V10 tout features that Samsung got rid of this year with their flagships. The removable battery and the microSD card slot.
If you’re looking to buy the LG V10, this is definitely a great deal. The full retail price of the phone is $600, which isn’t too bad in the first place, considering the specs and how rugged it is. But in addition you get an extra battery, charging cradle and a 200GB microSD card, which the microSD card usually costs around $180 by itself.
The LG V10 does have a Snapdragon 808 inside along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Not to mention the removable 3000mAh battery. It also has the same 16-megapixel camera on the back as well as a 5.7-inch 2560×1440 resolution IPS display here. There is also a secondary display above the 5.7-inch display which acts as an app launcher, and will be able to do even more, once developers start taking advantage of the SDK that LG has made available for the LG V10. And it’s launching with Android 5.1 Lollipop. A little disappointing to see it not launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, especially since LG worked with Google this year with the Nexus 5X. But we should see an update to the V10 rather soon, for Marshmallow. We hope.
Verizon is the third US carrier that will be carrying the LG V10 this year. So far there’s no word from big red as to when they will be launching the device. Hopefully it won’t be too far away.
