LG officially announced the V10 smartphone at the end of last month on September 30th, stating at the time that the phone would launch in South Korea the following week and that other markets such as the U.S. would receive the phone in the near future. While the phone hasn’t officially launched in any region other than LG’s home market just yet, some retailers and carriers like T-Mobile are already taking pre-orders for the device here in the U.S. Back during the initial unveiling, LG also stated that the phone would be coming to other markets worldwide, and this evening LG has just announced that global launches of the V10 are to begin this week.
That doesn’t mean there are specific dates though, as LG also mentioned that each market and the carriers in those markets would be announcing their own pricing and release dates for the product. The good news for consumers here in the U.S. as well as China and Hong Kong is that the device is to begin shipping this week, while LG states that other “key markets” in North America, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Latin America will start to see shipments of the phone head out to retailers and consumers throughout the rest of the fourth quarter, which means customers in regions that are to see the phone launch can expect to be able to get their hands on the LG V10 by the end of the year.
The LG V10 is LG’s first device in the “V” series of phones, sporting a 5.7-inch Quad HD display using LG’s Quantum IPS panel technology. While media capabilities like the camera quality are a mainline feature of the phone and may likely be the most used for many consumers, another notable key feature of the device is its secondary display which showcases things like notifications, weather data, calendar info and the time among other things. It also carries dual front-facing camera sensors for wide angle selfie shots at 120 degrees or a standard 80 degree shot, both of which should entice those users who are accustomed to taking front-facing photos.
