Meizu has announced yet another device a couple of days ago, the Meizu Blue Charm Metal. This is the sixth Meizu-branded device announced this year, following the lead of Meizu M1, M2, M2 Note, MX5 and PRO 5. The Meizu Blue Charm Metal is the first device in the ‘Blue Charm’ or ‘M’ line which is made out of metal, and also the first phone not to be powered by Android, well, at least not the way you think. The Meizu Blue Charm Metal comes with YunOS pre-installed, which is essentially a forked version of Android. Speaking of which, Meizu’s Flyme UI still comes pre-installed here, this phone’s software is kind of a mix between the two OS’.
That being said, the first teardown of this smartphone has landed in China, courtesy of IT168. Now, it turns out the phone wasn’t all that difficult to dismantle, and shouldn’t be all that difficult to repair either. The teardown of this phone is comparable to some of Meizu’s previous device made out of metal, the company’s flagships. The phone is well made though, no issues there either. In case you’d like to take a look at the teardown process yourself, you’ll find a ton of such images in the gallery down below which should give you a good look at this device from inside out.
The Meizu Blue Charm Metal sports a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) LTPS 2.5D curved display, 2GB of DDR3 RAM and 16/32GB of native storage (eMMC 5.0). The internal storage is expandable via microSD card, you can add an additional 128GB in here if you want. This smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio X10 (MT6795) 64-bit octa-core SoC, and a 3,140mAh battery is also available on the inside of this phone. The 13-megapixel snapper is located on the back of this device (PDAF, 0.2-second AF, f/2.2 aperture), while there’s a 5-megapixel camera available up front. As already mentioned, Alibaba’s YunOS comes pre-installed here with Meizu’s Flyme 5 also available here. This smartphone sports a physical home button up front which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, which is something we’ve seen in a number of Meizu’s device already.
