Meizu has announced a number of devices this year, and the latest one is their PRO 5 flagship. This smartphone has been launched quite recently, and it’s quite a powerful piece of tech. We’re not here to talk about that phablet though, but a device Meizu launched earlier this year, the Meizu M2. The company has more or less announced that this will happen quite recently, and the device has just been announced in India earlier today, read on.
This Meizu M2 unit is basically identical to the one that was launched back in July. This is an entry level smartphone which was priced at only 699 Yuan ($113) back when it launched, and it seems like it is very affordable in India as well. Meizu M2 comes in Grey, White, Blue and Pink color options to India, and is priced at Rs. 6,999 ($108) in the country. In case you live in India and are interested in picking one up, you can register to a sale on Snapdeal which closes at 4PM on October 11th. The device will be available starting October 12th.
Meizu M2 is a very competitive device, not only because it has a solid set of specs for an entry-level phone, but because of its price as well. This smartphone sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display with Dragontrail Glass protection on top of it. The phone ships with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). MediaTek’s MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor running at 1.3GHz fuels this phone along with a Mali-T720 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel rear-facing camera (f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens, Gorilla Glass 3 protection) is also a part of this package, and a 5-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture, 4P lens) can be found up front. This is a dual-SIM handset, and you can also use that second slot as the microSD card if you want (Hybrid Dual-SIM). Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with the company’s Flyme UI on top of Google’s OS. The 2,500mAh battery is available on the inside of this phone, and you also get 4G LTE connectivity here. The Meizu M2 measures 140.1 x 68.9 x 8.7mm, while it weighs 131 grams.
