Meizu has released 5 devices thus far this year, the Meizu M1, M2, M2 Note, MX5 and PRO 5. The first two devices are the company’s entry-level handsets which offer solid spec sheets, especially if you consider their price points. The Meizu M2 has launched back in July, and it has been available in China for quite some time now. The device is available in a number of color options, and its pricing starts at 699 Yuan ($113) in China. Well, it seems like the Meizu M2 will launch in India as well soon enough, read on.
This China-based smartphone OEM has announced that the Meizu M2 will roll out in India next week. To be more precise, this smartphone will launch in India on Monday, October 12th. The M2 will follow the lead of M1 Note, M2 Note and MX5 which have been unveiled in India earlier this year. We still don’t know how much this phone will cost, but it will probably be a bit more expensive than it is in China, though it will still be extremely affordable. The Meizu M2 will have to face tough competition in China from the likes of Xiaomi, Huawei, Micromax and a number of other OEMs which are successfully selling their smartphones in the country.
The Meizu M2 features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS LCD display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6735 quad-core SoC along with a Mali-T720MP2 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel snapper can be found up front. Two SIM card slots are available on the inside of this device, and 4G LTE connectivity is also available here. The non-removable 2,500mAh battery is also a part of this package, and Android 5.1 Lollipop come pre-installed here with Meizu’s Flyme 4.5 UI on top of it. The device measures 140.1 x 68.9 x 8.7mm, while it weighs 131 grams. That’s more or less it, stay tuned for more info, we’ll report back on Monday when Meizu plans to launch this device in India.
