Meizu Will Let Some Of You Swap Your OnePlus 2 For PRO 5

Chinese smartphone OEMs have seriously stepped up their game in the smartphone world in the last year or so. Huawei, Xiaomi, Meizu, OnePlus… and a number of other companies have released a number of truly compelling devices. OnePlus has introduced their OnePlus 2 flagship back in July, and Meizu has released the PRO 5 flagship last month. Both of these devices have lots to offer in terms of specs, design and performance, though OnePlus has a serious advantage when it comes to availability, even though you’ll need an invite to get one. OnePlus is available in a number of regions all over the world, while Meizu is still an Asia only affair, at least officially.

That being said, both of these devices are top of the line offerings, and it seems like Meizu is running a rather interesting campaign to trump OnePlus called ‘#TurnTheHeatOff’, which is a clearly pointed at OnePlus 2’s infamous Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor. As some of you might know, Snapdragon 810 has a really bad reputation of getting way too hot, while Meizu PRO 5 is running Samsung’s Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core SoC which is according to many people one of the best, if not the best, mobile SoC this year. Anyhow, speaking of Meizu’s campaign, the company has posted an image containing the aforementioned hashtag, and links that post to a Google Docs file. In that file, you can fill in your name, e-mail and tell Meizu why you want to ‘#TurnTheHeatOff’.

The company doesn’t exactly go into too much detail regarding this, but they did say the following: ”Want to swap your OnePlus phone for a Meizu PRO 5? Tell us why you want to #TurnTheHeatOff and you could win!”. So, we’re guessing, that those who fill out this form will enter a content, and if they win, they’ll be able to swap their OnePlus 2 smartphone for a Meizu PRO 5. I initially thought that Meizu will let basically everyone swap the device (at least in limited quantities), but it seems like this is a contest for OnePlus 2 users. Both of these devices are well specced, but one would argue Meizu PRO 5 has at least a slight advantage in this regard. Either way, if you’re interested, follow the source link down below.
