Announced on September 29, the Google Nexus 6P from Chinese firm Huawei is a beautiful device worth the title of an Android flagship. Its metal body and the gorgeous 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED screen make the eyes of Android fans to melt, especially since the price is considerably lower than other phones with similar specs. Google said the Nexus 6P and its smaller sibling would go on sale late in October and just a few weeks after the pre-order was open, the device ran out of stock on the Google Play Store.
If you head to Google’s Store, you will see a message saying “Currently out of stock” and you have the option to join a waitlist to be notified when the device is available again. Although it is unlikely that Google sold millions of units, they probably sold thousands, meaning that all color and storage options are gone. So, if you were among the lucky ones who were able to pre-order the handset, congratulations. Don’t be sad, though: fortunately, Huawei started selling the Nexus 6P at their online store and you can get it pretty soon. We tried out a simulation and Huawei’s website says that it will take 5 to 7 business days with free shipping for the 32 and 64 GB versions, and the 128 GB option will be delivered in late November.
It seems that the demand for Huawei’s Nexus flagship is pretty high out there. After just a few days of pre-orders, the device has also run out of stock in India. Not without a reason, as with its $500 starting price, the handset offers a great value for the money. With an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and 3 GB of RAM, it features a 13 megapixels main camera, an 8 MP front-facing sensor and a fingerprint reader. Additionally, the huge 3450 mAh battery should offer plenty of usage between charges, a welcomed feature on any phone.
Additionally to the Nexus 6P, Google has also released the Nexus 5X, a refresh from 2013 Nexus 5 also made by Korean LG, offering solid specs for an even lower price, featuring the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 2 GB of RAM, also a 13 megapixels rear camera and 32 GB of internal storage. The smaller, 5-inch IPS LCD screen offers a Full HD resolution, powered by a 2700 mAh battery. Starting at $379, this is also a great bang for your buck.
