TuneIn is a popular internet radio service from the eponymous company which is based out of Palo Alto, California. The service provides its users access to over 100,000 broadcast radio stations worldwide, with additional on-demand programming and podcasts etc. The company claims to have “the largest free selection of sports, news, music and talk radio from around the world”, according to the app’s listing page on the Google Play Store. The service also boasts of over 50 million active monthly users, according to information provided on its official webpage. While the service is available for free on the web, the company also has mobile apps for a number of platforms, including Android, iOS, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile.

While there is an ad-supported free tier on offer as part of the TuneIn app, the company also has an ad-free subscription-based alternative called TuneIn Premium, which comes for $7.99 monthly, and incorporates many more features and programming content compared to the basic free version. Now, the company has announced that it has tied-up with the National Football League to cover each and every game throughout the season for its paid subscribers on TuneIn Premium, meaning NFL fans will be able to keep in touch with the goings-on from around the league irrespective of where your work might take you and how far removed from your television sets you might be. Meaning, Monday Night Football will just be a tap away on your smartphones even when stuck in a traffic snarl, as long as you have network reception on your phone (or Wi-Fi access, for that matter).

Not only will the company broadcast play-by-play feeds of all regular season games through its TuneIn Premium service, TuneIn has also announced the availability of all post-season games including the AFC and NFC championship games and of course, the Super Bowl. TuneIn users will also “have access to NFL channel featuring audio from select NFL Media programming, including popular NFL Network shows such as NFL Total Access, Around the NFL, and NFL HQ, as well as official NFL Media podcasts including Move the Sticks and the Dave Dameshek Football Program”, according to the announcement. The company has also mentioned that it will also provide some original programming as part of its NFL coverage.
