We haven’t heard much from Lenovo lately, especially as far as the company’s India affairs are concerned. Well, at least until now. One of China’s biggest tech companies apparently plans to release two new devices in India before the end of this month. This is not official info at this point though, so take it with a grain of salt, as usual. Anyhow, sources say that Lenovo is planning to release the Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m devices in India before the end of October.
These two devices are a part of Lenovo’s ‘Vibe P’ line, and both of them sport really big batteries on the inside. The Vibe P1 was originally announced last month, and it’s still not available for purchase, India might actually be the first market to get the device. Anyhow, the Vibe P1 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core processor along with an Adreno 405 GPU. The 13-megapixel camera (PDAF included) is available on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel shooter can be found up front. The 5,000mAh non-removable battery is available on the inside of this phone, and Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Lenovo’s custom UI on top of it. The device measures 152.9 x 75.6 x 9.9mm, while it weighs 189 grams.
The Lenovo P1m, on the other hand, was also announced during IFA in Berlin last month. This smartphone sports a somewhat smaller display than the P1, it measures 5-inches and has 720p (1280 x 720) resolution. The phone will ship with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage on the inside (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). The 8-megapixel shooter is available on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel snapper is here for taking selfies and video calls. Android 5.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here as well, and the device measures 141 x 71.8 x 9.3mm, while it weighs 148 grams. This smartphone packs in a 4,000mAh battery, and is powered by MediaTek’s MT6735P quad-core processor.
According to the source, the Vibe P1m will cost Rs. 10,000 ($154), and the Vibe P1 will be priced at Rs. 17,500 ($269). Keep in mind that these are not official price points at the moment, we’ll just have to wait and see what Lenovo has to say.
