Despite announcing the delay of the flagship Huawei Nexus 6P, Rogers Canada has unveiled pricing for the device. Initially, the Google flagship smartphone was set to be released for October 23rd. But due to supply issues, the Nexus 6P won’t be available until November 2nd. This way, both Google and Huawei can guarantee that they’ll be able to meet the demand for the device.
When the Nexus 6P was unveiled at the Google Nexus event in San Francisco, many grew curious to be the next to own the device. Especially since it comes with some pretty stunning specs, it only seems logical why the Nexus 6P is a sought after device. The Nexus 6P comes with a 5.7-inch display with a 1440p resolution and 518 ppi index. It is built on an aeronautical-grade aluminum material that gives it its premium look and feel. On the back of the device lies a fingerprint sensor that can be used for unlocking the device and also for Android Pay.
The phone is built with a 12.3-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera on the back manages to record 4K videos just like its main competition, the iPhone 6s Plus. From beneath the display, a Snapdragon 810 processor runs along with 3GB of RAM. As for storage, the Nexus 6P has options ranging from 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage. It’s also the first Nexus device to be equipped with USB Type-C connectivity, a feature that will most likely be common among smartphones by next year.
Upon unboxing, the Huawei Nexus 6P has been announced to run with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. A notable feature of this new operating system is that it includes a new battery-saving mode called Doze and Now on Tap, a virtual assistant app for the smartphone.
Rogers has earlier confirmed that the Nexus 6P won’t start arriving in Canada until November 2nd. Following this announcement, they have unveiled pricing information for the 32GB model with a two-year contract for only $199.99. If you’re interested in getting the device, you can reserve from the phone their website so you can be among the first to get the device when it becomes available in Canada.
