Samsung launched its latest range of smartwatches back in late August, when it introduced not one, but three devices as part of its Gear S2 range. While two of those devices, the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic, come with only Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, the third version, Gear S2 3G, comes with 3G internet connectivity, as evident from the name itself. The Gear S2 and S2 Classic have already gone on sale in the US and can be had from a variety of online and offline outlets including Samsung’s own website, along with BestBuy and Macy’s, among others.

Reports earlier today advised that the standalone version of the smartwatch will be available at T-Mobile from November 15th, and now the 3G version of the device is up for pre-order on Verizon’s website, although, it will only be available at Verizon stores from November 6th, according to the Verizon website. As for the pricing, the Gear S2 3G costs $350 at full retail, but customers can get it for $50 less if they’re willing to sign-up for a two year contract. Customers can also add the smartwatch to their current Verizon account for an additional $5 per month. One can also choose between Dark Grey and Silver, which are the two color options available through the carrier.

Coming to some of the hardware specifications of the latest Gear smartwatches, the devices come in three different variants as already mentioned, all of which come with circular Super AMOLED displays, with 1.2-inch diameters, resulting in a pixel density of 302 dpi. The Gear S2 of course, is Samsung’s very first smartwatch with a circular display, and while the 3G version is powered by the Snapdragon 400 SoC from Qualcomm, the other two come with Samsung’s in-house Exynos 3250 under the hood. Both chipsets however, come with an integrated 1 GHz dual-core processor each. The Gear S2 variants come with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage, and feature rotating bezels along with a number of sensors including an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a PPG (heart rate monitor), an ambient light sensor and a barometer. The devices run on Tizen OS rather than on Android Wear, and come with IP68 Certification, which indicates water and dust resistance.
