Satechi Launches New Wireless Gamepad For Mobile Gaming

Mobile games have become pretty popular over the years and with them so have mobile gamepads. While most mobile games are designed to be played with a set of on-screen touch-based controls, sometimes there’s just nothing like using a gamepad. There are also certain games which make you feel like you’re more in control when you can move and execute using physical controls and buttons. To help satisfy this need Satechi has recently launched a new wireless gamepad that’s suitable for use with smartphones as well as tablets. It features a sleek yet familiar design that should be comfortable to hold for most gamers.

As accuracy can commonly be a problem with touch controls, Satechi set out to provide a gamepad which could correct this problem, although not all games come along with inaccurate touch controls. The new Satechi wireless gamepad connects to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth and comes with a slew of buttons including 2 joysticks, a D-pad, and 14 other buttons. There’s also a spring up top that extends outward in which gamers can clamp their smartphone so they can have the screen directly in front of them as if they were holding the phone, instead of having to lay it down or place it on a stand.

While this is a Bluetooth game pad which can be used for Android smartphones and tablets, this is merely one connectivity mode as the new Satechi wireless gamepad is also compatible with both iOS and Windows machines through the iCade mode and Joystick mode respectively. This means you can also connect the controller to iPhones and iPads, and your Windows based computers for use with Steam to play tons of different games like Borderlands 2 and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Using the controller with Steam of course, could require remapping of the controls. The gamepad can stay connected via a range of 23 feet, and it comes with a rechargeable battery that boasts a 220mAh capacity, as well as a battery saving sleep mode so you can rest assured it won’t die on you if you put it down and forget to turn it off. The Satechi Wireless gamepad is already available on Satechi’s website for $39.99, and you can also find it on Amazon for $34.99.
