Earlier today, the Droid Turbo 2 was launched as Verizon’s flagship smartphone, while also offering up some excellent new features from the Motorola side of things. The device has been rumored for quite some time now, and all of the leaks and rumors turned out to be true earlier today. The Droid Turbo 2 is more of a Motorola device than anything else before it in the Droid line, but it still has plenty of identity about it, including a questionable log plastered on the front on the device. One group of people that probably won’t mind this are Verizon employees, which is a good job as they’re getting a fancy Employee Edition of the phone.
The black and red Droid Turbo 2 hit the Verizon website earlier today, and it features a much more Verizon-like paint job than the standard Droid Turbo 2. It is of course, the exact same phone on the inside, which means it’s the same 5.4-inch AMOLED Quad HD smartphone with a ShatterShield screen and a Snapdragon 810 running the show. If you were wondering about variants, there’s only a 64GB version of this available to Employees, but it does appear to be a little cheaper this time around, which is a nice touch. As an added bonus, it appears as though Verizon employees will also be able to get access to a Design Refresh as well, which will allow users to choose a different design from Moto Maker should they have changed their mind concerning this one.
The Employee Edition has been something of a tradition for a long time now where the Droid smartphones are concerned, and this year is going to be no different it’d seem. We’ve taken a look at the Droid Turbo 2’s camera, what’s on the inside and we’ll be serving up even more coverage over the next few days and weeks, so keep it locked to Android Headlines.
