After announcing the LG V10 last night via a press release. LG has given us time to check out the LG V10 at their press event in New York City today. Where they announced that the device would be heading to Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T, leaving out Sprint. T-Mobile has just gotten in touch with us regarding their availability of the LG V10. While they haven’t released pricing or availability dates, we do have a pre-registration link, where you can sign up to get more info once it is available.
The LG V10 was announced this morning and has a 5.7-inch display which has a QHD resolution of 2560×1440 and is an IPS Panel. It is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot and a 3000mAh removable battery. Which means that the back is also removable. LG has also thrown in the same camera from the LG G4, and made it even better, if that was possible. The manual mode is still here this time around, but it is now available in the video recording. Now that right there is pretty amazing, having manual control while shooting video on the LG V10 is definitely a game changer.
The special part about this phone is perhaps that second display up top. Which can be used a lot like the edge on the original Galaxy Note Edge from last year. In the camera app, it houses your controls and menus. It can also house apps when you’re inside other apps, as well as your notifications. It’s actually pretty useful, even if it does look a little bit weird. LG also made a big point about this phone being pretty rugged. So you don’t need to worry about dropping it at all. It was tested at heights of 48 inches, and at different angles. Not the perfect testing, but still more rugged than most smartphones.
