The Droid Turbo 2 Will Offer a "Design Refresh" Option

Earlier today, Motorola and Verizon announced the Droid Turbo 2, part of a new pair that also includes the Droid MAXX 2. As we’ve come to expect from these sorts of devices, Motorola have put some of their specs and craftsmanship into these new devices and it really shows. There’s more of Motorola here than there ever has been in a previous Droid, and that brings with it one big, compelling feature; Moto Maker.

Just as customers can with the Moto X Pure, those that choose the 64GB version of the Droid Turbo 2 will be able to create their own unique device from around 1,000 different combinations. This includes a number of different materials for the back, including Pebbled Horween leather, Ballistic Nylon and a Soft Touch plastic. These aren’t just the same sort of hues and designs of the Moto X Pure however, as they have a more “Droid” look and feel to them, but unlike previous Droid devices they’re not too masculine, and the new Droid Turbo 2, with Moto Maker, should easily appeal to anyone and everyone that’s after a decent Android smartphone with a good look and feel and excellent specs.

Of course, designing your own smartphone is a risky business for some, especially if you isn up for a classic two-year contract with Big Red. Well, that’s why Verizon is giving customers that go this route the option to get a “design refresh” as they’re calling it for one time during the length of their contract. It’s unclear whether or not this is included for those that don’t sign a contract, but we haven’t received clarification from Verizon either way just yet. Still, being able to change your mind no matter when you purchased it is pretty great, and this is more than what you’d get with Motorola. Purchasing a Moto X device with Moto Maker gives you just 30-days to return it for another, should you change your mind. The fact that you can customize the Droid Turbo 2 in the first place is a big deal as it is, but this is perhaps the icing on the cake for many. We’ll have more coverage on this and the Droid MAXX 2 throughout the week!
