Back in the middle of September, Amazon unveiled a number of their latest hardware products. These included a few new Fire tablets (including a $50 option) as well as a refreshed Fire TV stick and a refreshed Fire TV device. The Fire TV (2015) comes with a few notable upgrades although the biggest is probably the ability to stream 4K content. In terms of the rest of the specs, we are looking at 2GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, a microSD card slot for expandable storage (up to 128GB), while powering everything is a MediaTek Quad-Core processor.
Since the unveil, the Amazon Fire TV has been in a pre-order status although this morning that status was lifted and it is now available to buy outright. In terms of the price, the Fire TV (2015) comes in at $99.99 and is available through Amazon. We were able to get our hands on the Fire TV just ahead of its official shipping and will have a review of the device and the user experience soon enough. In the meantime though, for those interesting to see what the Fire TV looks like up close and to see what you get for your $100, we have put together a quick unboxing video for you to check out.
