For a long time now we’ve been hearing rumors about yet another One M9 device variant to join the HTC family, and today is finally the day that we see it. HTC is teasing an unconventional launch event for us all today, so there’s no telling what else the company is going to be announcing, but the One A9 is pretty much a dead cert to be shown off to the world later today.
We’ve seen the device leak out in renders, real-life blurry pics, and we even have a good idea of what’s on the inside of this latest HTC device. The A9 is set to go head-to-head with the iPhone, which is perhaps why the two look so similar, but we’ll leave that discussion for another time. As far as specs go, this seems set to be a mid-ranger, with the A9 said to be sporting a 5.0-inch Full HD display, an UltraPixel camera and of course the familiar build quality that we’ve come to expect from HTC over the years. A highlight that should be at the heart of today’s launch is the fact that HTC is launching the first device outside of the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P to feature Android 6.0 Marshmallow onboard.
We’ll have all of the news as we have it, but for those curious and looking to learn more, they can tune in to the YouTube live stream down below and join in the conversation.
