ZUK is a relatively new company backed by Lenovo. This China-based smartphone manufacturer has already released their first smartphone, the device was launched two months ago in two variants, the Chinese and international model. The Chinese variants ships with ZUI user interface installed on top of Android, while the international model comes with Cyanogen OS pre-installed. ZUK has already made ZUK Z1 available via Amazon in a number of European countries, and as we’ve reported the other day, the company plans to expand that availability.
ZUK is holding an event in Dubai later today, and a number of additional countries will follow. ZUK has partnered with Comtel, the biggest retailer in the Middle East, which suggests ZUK Z1 is about to reach quite a few additional countries soon. That being said, the company is also holding a ZUK Z1 sale as we speak. This deal is actually worth only today, and if you decide to take advantage of it, you can purchase this phone for $279.99 (the phone usually costs $349.99). The ZUK Z1 features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS LCD display, 3GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 801 quad-core SoC along with an Adreno 330 GPU for graphics. The 13-megapixel shooter is available on the back of this smartphone, and an 8-megapixel camera can be found up front. The device sports a physical home button below the display which actually doubles as a fingerprint scanner. This is a dual-SIM device which offers 4G LTE connectivity, and packs in a huge 4,100mAh battery on the inside. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Cyanogen OS 12.1 pre-installed on top of it. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will land on the ZUK Z1 in the coming months, so stay tuned for that. The ZUK Z1 measures 155.7 x 77.3 x 8.9, while it weighs 175 grams.
