By now, most people who pay close attention to the world of Android Wear have probably heard that a much-anticipated option, the LG WEatch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, has had sales cancelled due to a complex hardware flaw according to LG themselves. This likely came as a bit of a shock as the watch was due to hit store shelves here in the U.S. soon (this week in fact) with AT&T and Verizon Wireless both confirming they would end up carrying the watch. Had the watch made it to launch, it would have been LG’s first LTE enabled Android Wear watch, competing alongside Samsung’s Gear S2 that also supports cellular connectivity. It wasn’t just LG’s first LTE enabled Android Wear watch though, it was also the first Android Wear watch to support cellular connections period.
With the watch now in limbo, plenty of users are surely wondering whether or not LG will end up bringing the device back at some point after they address the hardware problem. This is still unclear, but with all the time and effort to produce models to show off at events this year, it would be odd to see LG back out of selling it completely. If you are a customer of either AT&T or Verizon Wireless, were you planning on buying one of these watches if you hadn’t already tried to place an order?
