Buyer Shares First-Look Images Of The TAG Heuer Connected

Back in the middle of the year, Swiss luxury watchmaker TAG Heuer revealed that they would be entering the connected watch market by introducing an Android Wear smartwatch. This morning TAG Heuer officially took the wraps off of their device, appropriately named  the Connected, and true to luxury form it comes with a luxury price tag. It’s nowhere near the highball price of the most expensive Apple Watches, but a $1,500 Android Wear smartwatch is still a hefty cost for many users. Many of us may never get to hold one much less see one up close, but thanks to a user on Reddit who also happens to be a buyer of the Connected, we get some first-look images of the device in a series of unboxing photos.

There shouldn’t be any doubt that the device is made by a luxury watch brand, as even the packaging looks like a higher-end experience than you’d get with other more mainstream smartwatches, coming inside of a plastic hard case with a proper latch, and then encased inside of nice looking box with the TAG Heuer logo. Suffice it to say that the unboxing experience looks to be a pleasurable one, likely made all the more exciting by the fact that you are about to power up and put on an expensive piece of tech.

The Connected comes wrapped in a 46mm titanium watch case modeled after TAG Heuer’s classic Carrera timepiece. 46mm is standard in comparison to the new Moto 360 send generation as it too has a 46mm option for consumers, but 46mm is also rather quite large, and that’s made all-the-more evident when you look at an up close shot of the watch being worn while the display powers up. If you were curious to see what the experience would be like opening up one of these devices without having to actually pay for it, these images should do the trick. Just in case you missed the earlier details, the TAG Heuer Connected went on sale this morning for the above-listed price, and is available with vulcanized rubber straps in black, yellow, red, green, blue, white, and orange.
